Hummingbird Home Helpers

Independence Support & Carer Respite

Helping you stay independent at Home.

At Hummingbird Home Helpers, we know how important it is to maintain your independence, allowing you to live comfortably in your home for as long as possible. Our aim is to make this an easier process, providing you with practical support so you can continue your day to day life to it's fullest. Whether it is helping you with laundry and changing the beds, accompanying you to the supermarket or providing companionship to a loved one, while you have some respite, we tailor our services to each person's individual needs.

Based in Woodbridge and covering the surrounding areas, we think consistency and continuity are the heart of building a trusting relationship, so we match each individual with a suitable supporter. All our supporters have provided a clear DBS check and been subject to referencing.

Financial Support

It can be a difficult decision to start paying for support. If you feel you need the services we require to maintain your independence, as long as you are over pension age you may be entitled to Attendance Allowance. This is government funded and not means tested. You could get over £60 per week.

For a one off fee of £40, we will come to your home, help you fill in the form, print and send the application.

Vivian Sellers

“Jenny does my stepfather's laundry and takes him shopping at Tesco. He thinks she is wonderful and have grown to know each other very well. Any concerns are reported directly to the family, so things are picked up on straight away

Lauren Harding

“Rachel is so friendly and easy going. She takes me in her car where ever I need to go, be it a hospital appointment or just to the local shops. She has become a big part of my life

Sue Falmer

“Gail works so hard to ensure I have everything I need. She helps me change my bed, which I always find difficult, makes me lunch and then leaves me a sandwich for the evening. Always with a smile!”
