About Hummingbird Home Helpers

 

Hummingbird Home Helpers was founded by Hazel Killner in 2019, with the aim to help people in the local community to maintain their independence at home. She quickly realised the magnitude of the support people needed, and in 2021 she brought Jenny into the team, Jenny helped Hazel with her growing workload, and eventually they managed to expand the client base. In 2022, Sally, Gail and Sarah joined the team. The team have varied backgrounds and own unique interests, which helps match them to the correct individuals.

At Hummingbird Home Helpers, we know how important it is to maintain your independence, allowing you to live comfortably in your home for as long as possible. Our aim is to make this an easier process, providing you with practical support so you can continue your day to day life to it's fullest. Each person has their own unique needs when it comes to support, whether it is help with laundry and changing the beds, accompaniment to the supermarket or providing companionship to a loved one, while you have some respite, we tailor our services to each person's individual needs. Initially we will meet to discuss how Hummingbird Home Helpers can assist with your needs. When it comes to support, we know continuity is key, so, we "match" a member of the team with each individual so they can build a relationship. All our supporters have provided a clear DBS check and been subject to referencing.
